Outdoor Wednesday

Early evening at the pier at Myrtle Beach. Gone are the summer crowds, beach chairs and umbrellas lined up in a row...even the sign has been replaced to warn of no life guard on duty.An occasional fisherman walks quietly down the beach headed home from a day of fishing.

Just the calming rush of the tide to the shore and an occasional cry of a seagull.
A perfect time for reflection. Reflection about life and the magnificience of God's creations.
Tomorrow morning will bring more visitors, children playing in the surf and lovers walking hand in hand but this evening all is quiet.
Goodnight ocean, Goodnight beach, Goodnight Moon!

  1. It doesn't look a very 'calming' rush of the ocean, to me, but I love the view of the undersides of the pier

Thank you for stopping by my blog and for your comment.
I was just reading your profile and had to giggle, my oldest grandson (now 14) called me mema when he was little and now all 4 of my grandsons call me "mema". And we aren't even from the south!
    Have a fabulous day!

  6. Annette,
When I first looked at your beach/ocean picture I was thinking I was looking at the beach at the Jersey Shore where I live! Your pictures show just how powerful the ocean can be - yet there is a peaceful feeling if you are walking on the beach. Wonderful photos of the pier and waves.

  16. I really enjoyed this post, Annette! I love the stormy water and the symmetry of the pier supports. Your commentary is great and the last line is just charming. I did pier shots for last week's Watery Wednesday..they're perfect for photo ops, aren't they?

So glad you stopped by my page...

  21. I am surprised at how rough it looks in the pictures. We plan on going for a walk there this weekend. (however, it may actually rain this weekend and do we ever need it!)
