If you remember, I found this wreath at Goodwill last summer for $2.00. I used it through the fall but it was looking a little tired . So, I quickly pulled the flowers off. Well, not too quickly, someone really glued those flowers on!
I wanted something bright for spring so I headed out to the Dollar Tree and Hobby Lobby for some new colorful supplies.
I found the yellow and red tulips and the cute gingham ribbon at Hobby Lobby for 50% off. I then picked up the filler greenery and little white flowers... don't know what they are, at my favorite Dollar Tree. Next I pulled out my E-Z bow maker to make a new bow. If you don't have and E-Z bow maker you need to beg borrow or steal one. They are so easy! Even I can make bows with them and I can hardly tie my shoes!
Well, it's all finished for a grand total of ten dollars. I love the vivid reds and yellows.
The yellow even matches the lovely yellow pollen that has settled all over everything. However, I won't complain... I have been so anxious for Spring to get here, even the pollen.
Thanks for dropping by and y'all come back.

ReplyDeleteYou chose the prettiest colors and you can never go wrong with gingham. Thanks for the heads up on the bow maker, every once in awhile I see them and wonder if they are worth it.
ReplyDeleteThe colors look great on your door. So bright and cheery. I too have been dealing with the thick yellow pollen everywhere. I'm waiting for it all to stop before I wash everything down.

You did a beautiful Job, Annette, and I am now motivated to get my wreath fixed and put up! I love the gingham ribbon and will get to my Hobby lobby as soon as possible. For some reason I am into gingham this year. I have a bow maker and have never used it, (do you see me hiding my eyes) yes I am embarrassed to say I have not even got it out of the box. And I will!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for praying for Will and us, it means so much.
Hugs,
Sue

ReplyDeleteI absolutely love all the beautiful colorful flowers on your wreath....gorgeous! I will have to look up the bow tying gadget you mentioned. Those are Canada Geese in the post right before this one....we must have had a bad winter if they won't fly north ;). Thanks for visiting my blog earlier....we both love spring flowers!
ReplyDeleteTotally springy-love the vibrant colors!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful new door wreath. It is so bright and cheerful. To answer your question about the Yankee Candle tarts, the ones I'm using are different. The containers operate with a low-wattage light bulb, so I think the consistency of the wax is such that it will melt like that, so you don't have an open flame. Maybe the Yankee tarts (okay, that sounds a bit funny, but you know what I'm talkin' bout) would melt, too, I haven't tried that.
