Depart from evil and do good;seek peace, and pursue it.
Psalm 34:14
Help me dear Lord, to seek peace. That might mean I have to back down from an argument. It might mean I don't get my way. It might mean I don't get in the last word. It might mean I don't have to be right all of the time. I don't have to win. Help me to put aside my selfish goals and to consider the needs of others.
Give me a sense of what You want in every situation.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Matthew 5:9

Wonderful post. If we all tried a little harder to make peace with ourselves and others, the world would be a much better place for sure.

There have been several posts today on peace. It's a wonderful thing but there is so little of it. Thanks be to God who gives us His peace that goes beyond what we can imagine. Good post, God bless, Dr. Bobbi

Amen! Love your prayer, which speaks from the heart, and of course, the photo of the blue jay. So sweet. Happy Spiritual Sunday!
ReplyDeleteHi Annette,
ReplyDeleteThank you for speaking on a topic that is needful to hear. "Give me a sense of what you want in every situation." Yes Lord I ask this of You.
Blessings and peace.

Beautiful picture and words. The one thing that has helped me be less selfish over the past few months is I started repeating, "It's not all about me." It brings me back to the "I'm being selfish" knowledge. And I've found I lose my peace when I'm being selfish.
ReplyDeleteWonderful Post! In times like that, I need a whole lot more of Jesus and a lot less of me so I can be a peacemaker .
ReplyDeleteBlessings,

This was a beautiful message. I've been learning to pray for peace and acceptance rather than change lately. This was a wonderful reminder. Thank you.
