Sunday Reflections

"I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people: to you is born this day in the city of David  a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord."      Luke 2:10-11

Hail the heaven-born Prince of Peace!
     Hail the Son of Righteousness!
Light and life to all he brings,
Risen with healing in his wings,
Mild he lays his glory by,
Born that we no more may die,
Born to raise us from the earth,
Born to give us second birth.
Hark the herald angels sing,
Glory to the newborn king!"
                               -Charles Wesley

I am so thankful that the herald message was to all people and that it includes me and you even today. It is so wonderful to know that we don't have to worry about death and that we have been given a second birth.

  2. "...great joy to all the people," what a wonderful proclamation! His joy is timeless, and endless. Love came down that Christmas night and stayed, so we, and our children...and theirs, could know the love of God.

  4. Hi Annettte,

This is my first visit to Vintage Southern Life. Like the other comments before me, I too, am filled with joy because of what was accomplished through Jesus Christ. That God would extend grace to all of humanity through the work of salvation. What opportunity we have in Christ! Yes, let us all sing to the King of kings. The angels rejoice and we worship Him.

Thank you for sharing this moment of joy.

    Blessings and peace.

  5. Reading the words to that old hymn are almost more powerful than singing them! Merry Christmas from the frozen tundra! (WI)
