Simple Pleasures

When I think of life's simple pleasures our fur baby is one of the first things that comes to mind.
He is a 18 month old shih-tzu, and his name is Skipper.
He radiates love, unconditional love. God's little creatures are gifts to us from God.
They not only provide us with companionship, joy and laughter
they are a constant reminder of God's unconditional love for us.

I just recently finished reading And Thereby Hangs a Tale a gift from a dear friend.
The author, David Teems, uses his dogs as powerful images of devotion to give you a glimpse of what a devoted life really looks like.
"A dog makes devotion look as if it is the best part of life."
It is filled with lots of sweet lessons for living a Christian life.

  3. Skipper is precious. We have my late mama's little dachshund and she is such a delight for my husband and myself. I agree that pets teach us many things and bring us a lot of joy. Hope you have a nice weekend.

  5. What a sweet little face Skipper has! Growing up, my family always had a dog in our lives, and I miss that constant companionship. We're in an apartment now, saving up for a house, and while I can't have a dog right now, I look forward to the day that I can bring one home to join our family!
Thank you for stopping by my blog -- that dish of chocolate ice cream was exactly what I needed to recover from a less-than-stellar day!

  6. I so agree...If our devotion was that of our furry friends to us, our lives would be transformed. The eagerness to please and to just be near us is a good lesson for us all. True unconditional love. Nice post...

  9. How sweet and adorable! I just love his little face. We have a Shih Tzu, too - her name is Emily. On the first Friday of each month, I have a little meme where everyone shares photos of their pets, if you'd like to join. Thanks for your visit!
