N is for New home for a little rocker

While thrifting this fall at one of my favorite little antique malls I came across this cute little rocker.
It had lots of scratches and the paint on the back had to go but I knew what I wanted to do with it.
And besides, it looked like it needed a new home.

First it had to be sanded down. The painting on the back was very resistant but it finally came off.

Then it got several coats of white paint.

Next I made a little lavender gingham check cushion with lots of ruffles.

Finally, it was ready for its' new home but it had to wait until Christmas.

It would be one of the surprises for Grandbaby #2

It fit her perfectly!

The little rocker now has a new home where it get lots of love and attention everyday.

Thanks for visiting and y'all come back!

  2. My granddaughter loves her little rocker but it is red. On Christmas morning, she ran into the back room, picked it up and brought it back into the living room so she could sit in it while opening presents. She is only 21 months old but....she is serious about her rocker.

  3. Nice rocker! Ironically I was given a rocker this past week too, a solid oak one like I had when I nursed my kids. Love those chairs!

  8. Ahhh. There is just something about a rocking chair. My parents don't have a lot of things...but when they die, I get the rocking chair. The one that my mom would rock me in and the one that my dad would sit in when he played the guitar.
Now your babes has one to make memories in too.

  15. Love the little rocker and the pictures are so sweet! I have an original little family rocker that has been enjoyed by two generations now. And, I've been thinking about painting it. Just keep thinking that maybe I like all the little niks, dings and scuff marks since I know you put them there.
