A Patriotic Blue Monday

Wishing everyone a Happy Memorial Day! Let us remember those that paid the ultimate price for our freedom.  Let us pray for our country and thank God for the freedom we are so blessed to have.

No blue is more special than the red, white and blue.

Beautiful patriotic blues for the door . . .

for the table . . .

and for the home

Hello, I'm Mrs. Vintagesouthern and I'm an addict

I am addicted to Pinterest. I just keep finding things I want to do like this beautiful bench

made from a vintage dresser. Betterafterblogspot did such an awesome job.

or

a dishwasher face lift

like Saving4six did. She has a wonderful step by step tutorial. I'm going to need
help on this one from Mr. Vintage and since we've just finished doing bead
board on the cabinets at the condo I think it might be wise to wait a little while
to bring it up.

I did try this one already

I chose the dry version rather than having to store the liquid. It is so
economical, pennies a load, does not have all of those horrid chemicals and it lasts
F-o-r-e-v-e-r!

Pinterest also adds to your life expectancy!  That's right. I will have to live
to be 110 to get all of the projects done I have found.

So are you addicted too? What have you tried lately, I would love to hear

Thanks for dropping by and y'all come back.

A peek into Israel

Ever been on a tour boat on the Sea of Galilee?   Mr. Vintagesouthern was fortunate enough to visit Israel and agreed to share some of his photos.

Blue Monday -Haint Blue

source

Growing up and living in the south I have been exposed to many local traditions and superstitions.

I wouldn't trade it for the world. I think it just adds to the southern charm.

One of my favorite superstitions centers around the color "haint blue."

According to tradition the color haint blue has magical powers and if painted on the exterior of the

house it will keep ghosts and evil spirits from entering. To this day the color appears on ceilings, shutters,

porches and doors from Charleston, S.C. to Louisiana.

Thanks for dropping by for a visit and y'all come back!
