Sunday Reflections

He will quiet you with his love.  Zephaniah 3:17
Jesus did not answer a word.   Matthew 15:23

Have you ever experienced a crushing sorrow, a bitter disappointment, or a heartbreaking blow
from an unexpected place?
It is then that we cry out to hear His voice speak to us.

But sometimes there is only silence,  not a word.

His heart must break listening to our cries Often, our impatient hearts cry out because we fail to see
through our tear blinded eyes that it is for our own sakes  that He does not answer at all or that he answers
in a way that we think is not best.

The silences of Jesus are as powerful as His words and may be a sign not of His disapproval but of his
approval and His way of providing a deeper blessing for us.

Sometimes His love is silent because His love is beyond the power of words to express it and beyond
our understanding.
Other times it is silent so that we may learn to trust Him. He will "do wonders never before done"
(Ex 34:10)
If we will learn the mystery of His silence and praise Him every time for His silence.

  1. Great Word! Sometimes His greatest show of power is in the simple act of silence. I just pray I am patient enough during those times to be still and wait upon him. Blessings and thank you!

  6. I just found your blog and have become a new follower. I too love vintage southern, thrift stores, and my grandchildren. I have 5 of them ranging in age from 10-3. I'm a huge quilting nut and love to stitch. I like looking at your vintage finds. Please hop on over to my little blog for a nice visit and hopefully we Grandmothers can become followers of one another.
    Blessings
