When it's too hot to do any work, go thrifting.
Well, actually, I'm the one that said it and it seemed like a good idea.
I visited one of my favorite stops. . . the Antique Mall of Brevard.
I love this beautiful pink watering can.
. . . more pretty pinks
lots of pretty milk glass . . .
It was such fun enjoying the cool and pouring over all of the beautiful treasures.
Then the guilt set in. A very wise person once told me
"Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today." She also told me quite frequently
A stitch in time saves nine.
That wise person was my sweet grandmother. She had sayings for everything and
her words come back to me often. Sometimes as a sweet memory and other times to give me
direction or get me back on task.
Do you have any sayings that were passed on to you and continue to be with you today?
Words you find yourself repeating?
I think I need to get busy and make up some lost time. I'm glad you dropped by and
y'all come back.

Thrifting does sound like a fun way to beat the heat. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with all the old sayings. I spend a lot of time in antique malls. Mostly looking. Seldom buy.
ReplyDeleteI like that watering can too! Happy PS.
ReplyDeleteHi Annette....my Grampa used to say, Red sky at night, sailors delight. Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning. Seems to be true here.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a nice reprieve from the heat.
Enjoy your weekend.

Hi Annette,
ReplyDeleteI like the way you spend a hot summer day. I do love digging through vintage stores. I'm always searching for a great deal on something wonderful. Happy Saturday!
Hello , Happy Pink Saturday! What a lovely pink post, loved the pink watering can and milk glass. My mother always said "only say kind things about people, unkind things should not be repeated". Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving a sweet comment. Have a wonderful week!

Annette, Thanks for this post. It did bring back memories. My Dad always said "When you have your head in a lion's mouth, ease it out".

What a fun place to spend a day looking round! My favorite saying, which came out of the mouth of an 11 year old girl was, "You get what you get and you don't throw a fit!"
