I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We had a great time here at the Vintagesouthern household.
The grand babies were such fun. Their excitement and energy level was endless.
I am so excited. This is my first white Christmas! They say we had one here 47 years ago but I don't remember it.It is a first for Skipper too.
We struck out for our walk this morning all bundled up and ready for fun. Skipper used his nose as a snow plow funneling the snow down the neck of his sweater.I had to take the sweater off of him five minutes into the walk as he was turning into a little snow dog.
We were walking along one minute and I was anticipating the beautiful pictures I was going to get and the next minute my bottom was flat down in the snow. How did that happen? I didn't even have time to brace myself for the fall. After
Once I defrost, and find more batteries I will be out and about again but I am realizing I would have never made it as a pioneer woman. Enjoy your day where ever you are and stay safe.

You sound like me. I ventured out around 7 a.m. this morning to take photos. Our only neighbors are in NY so I knew if I fell, nobody would see me!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you were not hurt badly and I look forward to photos from you later.
It has been fun to have a
White Christmas!
Glad you were ok with your fall! Snow is rare for us...more pics to come, nice

OUCH! That's the thing with snow. One minute you are up and the next you are down for the count. I'm glad you weren't hurt. La
ReplyDeleteAnnette,
ReplyDeleteYou made me laugh out loud just picturing you taking stock of your arms and legs after you plopped in the snow! That would have made a great picture, too! So glad you had a good time walking in the snow. I'm at my daughter's house and they aren't getting nearly as much snow as I hear NJ is getting! I will try to go home on tuesday! So nice getting to know you too! Hope your New Year is great!
~Jean
Oh Annette Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteWhat a glorious share this evening. I loved it. Imagine that walking along, and suddenly you are kissing the ground. Been there, done that, and decided 26 years ago to move to the desert. No more snow kissing for me. I don't like the cold. I love the warmth of the sun and the desert suits me just fine.
Great photo of the tracks in the snow. So serene and peaceful.
Hope you have a beautiful New Years sweet friend. It has been a pleasure blogging with you. Can't wait to see what 2011 brings to us all. Many hugs and much love, Sherry
Hi Annette
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year from Southern California. No snow here but a lot of rain storms and mud slides!
I hope you and your family had a Wonderful Christmas Celebration.
God Bless You, ~Ron
I have only seen snow four times. I really do not like cold weather at all ,but if it would snow here I would like the cold for maybe one day!

Awesome view. Love the footprints. The national news said Savannah got snow but we didn't.

Oh what a nice surprise...if it snowed here I would be very pleased. But I probably wouldn't like it after too long.(-: Thank you for visiting me and leaving such a nice comment. Happy New Year and no more slipping!
ReplyDeleteWhat a very funny story! That has happened to me numerous times! Skipper probably thought it was great sport, though! I'm glad you weren't hurt, those are the times that I am very careful to avoid the older I get. I have VERY good treads on my boots and I step very gingerly over icy looking patches, but accidents do happen! :8)
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for you that you have had a white Christmas!
Happy New Year and all the best to you and your loved ones in 2011!
Hugs, Cindy
The snow looks so unspoiled and beautiful..
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Hi Annette, I really enjoyed your post today. We live in the mountains in Western, NC and we were dumped on here. A rare white Christmas. Now here is the kicker...we were in Florida for Christmas. However, we are home now and the snow is everywhere. We had to park our car at the bottom of our driveway and walk up to our home about 200 feet. It is beautiful but slippery. I almost fell but held my footing somehow. I can picture you down and probably wondering what happened. I'm glad you are ok.
ReplyDeleteYour photo of the footprints is a good shot. It is a shame you lost your batteries.
Stay warm. Hugs, Jeanne
Wow! I am so happy for you! There is nothing like being in your first snow...my poor sister in law and brother moved from California to New Hampshire and she immediately fell and broke her wrist with her first snow.. :) Yeah..I know I shouldn't smile...it just struck me as funny ..we Southern California gals... :)
ReplyDeleteYou are too funny. Glad it was just your pride that got hurt. Have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteWe are loving our unusual snow, too!
ReplyDeleteYou still got a wonderful snow pic !Glad you weren't hurt & could laugh about your fall .
ReplyDeleteHappy new Year !

What fun! We get snow here sometimes but not any at our house so far this winter. Last year it snowed on Christmas and it was beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you stopped by my blog, now I know where to go for "decorating, DIY projects, travel and thrifting." Which happen to be some of my favorite things!
Happy New Year...
I see you had snow too, which was is very rare for us too! I am glad you weren't hurt when you fell. Ours has finally melted. and I think we have had our share this winter.
