I thought I would share with you my chair covers. They have been a life saver for me. I love white but white chairs and Skipper don't go to well together,(sorry Skipper) I needed to cover the chair arms so he could sit in the chair and
This is what I came up with
I made a cover very similar to a table runner.I measured the length I needed to go over the chair arm, under the chair cushion and up over the other arm. You can see the manufacturers cover in the picture under my black covers but Skipper would pull them off. With the cover running under the cushion they stay in place.
Sooo easy! My kind of projects. One seam, turn inside out, add a tassel and your done!
I had extra fabric left over so I made two matching throw pillows and covered this little thrift store find. I left the material on the footstool as it was in good condition but the wrong color.
I simply removed the short wooden legs, cut a square big enough to cover the top and sides and stapled it underneath. The hardest part was the corners. I pleated them and stapled as well.
This little tray and the magazine holder I got at Hobby Lobby on their 66% off sale.
Note to self, It's time to clean out the magazine holder again!
Skipper is giving me the cold shoulder because of what I said about him!
Fur babies can be sooo moody!
Have a good day and y'all come back!

I need to put one on the BACK of our chair. Jessie, our shih tzu, likes to sit there! Love the tray and mag. holder too!
ReplyDeleteMy kinda project there too...new sew, no brainer, looks great! Cute tray too. Debbie
ReplyDeleteOh Skipper..She didn't mean to hurt your feelings! What's that you say? Oh, you like the arm covers, you were just looking for some attention.
ReplyDeleteCarol
Very cute! Love the toile pillow on the chair. They look great!
ReplyDeleteClassy look! Good job!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to run the arm cover under the seat cushion. I love the results!
ReplyDeleteI know that look Skipper is giving you....Bosco gives me the very same look (or non-look). He acts as if I'm not even in the room. :o)
Have a terrific Tuesday, my friend! La
I am a fan of the black and white so this, of course, caught my eye. Nicely done.

What a great idea to swag your arm cover under the cushion. I love the fabrics you used and the harlequin tray is adorable. I'd love for you to link this with Fabric Fun Thursday.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love it!
ReplyDeleteIt really came out nice!
Thank you for sharing!

Such a simple thing but looks fabulous! I have a Newfoundland so I think that I would need a table cloth not a table runner to salvage our furniture! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHI Annette, thanks for your sweet comments on my blog. I just had to come by for a visit. I love your blog. Love that chair! And don't you love making table runners. They too are a love of mine. I have too many. What a great post. I will be back for more visiting.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Debbie
Hi Annette!
ReplyDeleteThese turned out wonderful! I like the idea of just making a scarf to add an extra layered look for different seasons!
Hi Annette, thanks for stopping by. Your Skipper is a sweetheart. Yes Charley is a shih tzu, he's now 9 months old. I like your idea for your arm rests. I have been using lace pillow shams that I put on my arm rests so I don't have to wash my slip cover as often. I am an Educational Assistant and work with special needs children as well.
ReplyDeleteI do this also. Great way to save the arms! I have 5 cats and one fur ball poodle. They have taken over the furniture completely so we needed something that could just be flung in the washer and dryer and back on again.
ReplyDeleteLove your hobby lobby tray! I love their clearance section.
Thanks for hopping to my blog and leaving such a sweet comment!
Hugs- Tete
How beautiful and the doggie too!!! ~~Sherry~~
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to run the fabric under the cushion. I should do that with some of the furniture my cat Lily likes to lay on. Your dog is a cutie.
ReplyDeleteWay to pull it all together -looks great!
ReplyDeleteWonderful idea and it looks great.
ReplyDeleteLove it....
Sweet Blessings,
